Bump Testing

If it is required to determine the natural frequencies of a fan rotor assembly and/or fan structure, Aerovent offers bump testing to identify these frequencies. Bump testing can be performed on a rotor assembly suspended in air or on a structure mounted to the floor and involves placing accelerometers in strategic locations on the rotor assembly and/or fan structure.

Once the accelerometers are affixed to the unit, it is impacted with a mallet and the response is measured using diagnostic equipment to determine the natural frequencies present in the unit.
